July 13, 2007

"Payton has been like a daughter to us throughout our entire relationship. When we decided to get married in the Bahamas, I immediately started planning on how to get her there," says Brandi, a Sicily Island, La., bride. "After many long hours of research, detailed paperwork – and a couple of last minute visits to the vet to make sure everything was in order – she was able to make it to the Bahamas." But the pup wasn't just there to roll around in the surf: She was there with a job to do! "[She was] our flower girl," says Brandi. "Payton loved every minute of it (she's a beach fanatic!) and we were so glad she was able to be there!"

It's a Doggone Wedding When the Dog's Gone!

July 06, 2007

Caulkins thought his dog Chonch would be a cute, fun addition to his wedding. Instead, the pooch sent wedding guests off a massive manhunt! "My niece took Chonch outside for a walk [and] she accidentally dropped the leash and he took off. The wedding party spent the rehearsal evening in the woods looking for Chonch — and my mom ended up in poision ivy." Things got worse that night, he says: "We stayed up all night – but only heard coyotes." Terrifying indeed, but Caulkins was in for a wedding miracle. "Hours before the wedding, neighbors called [saying they] had heard a yelp. My dad found Chonch [with his leash] wrapped around a tree! They arrived 30 minutes before the wedding." All's well that ends well!

Their Reception Went to the Dogs!

June 27, 2007

Bridesmaid

"Our dogs have always been a huge part in our lives, so it was only natural to have them attend our wedding," says Danielle, an Adamstown, Md., bride who tied te knot in Captiva Island, Fla. "We were unable to bring them to the chapel but decided they'd be a hit at the reception. During the reception we had the dogs wear their beautiful bride and groom outfits." The guests — and the pups — had a great time, she says. "The dogs loved the beach!"
