They Planned Their Wedding Online!
When Anne and her girlfriend were planning their destination wedding in Toronto — a city the Louisburg, N.C., couple had never visited — the net-savvy twosome hit the web! "We planned the entire wedding online," says Anne. "The officiant, the wedding location, the hotel for guests, the restaurant for the wedding dinner and the wedding cakes. Everything was amazing. The location, Allan Gardens, was beautiful, the cakes were delicious, and our wedding dinner was exactly like we planned. Twenty of our closest family and friends joined us, including our three kids. Our one year anniversary is coming up and I couldn't love my wife more!"

Anne - even though you can't get married in your own backyard, you can come get married in mine - we'll buck the law! CONGRATS and I'm so excited you were featured in People! May you have a million years of happiness!

It was so nice to look back on this page and see a comment from the happy couple.
You are right Anne and Beck it will happen!!! My husband and I promise to continue to fight for it as long as we are alive and hopefully long after that (since I am a writer and words live on forever).
P.S. Thank you Jill.

Thanks for all of the kind words and well wishes. We are still amazed that People chose to publish our story...
It is unfortunate that we were unable to marry in our own backyard, one day I am certain it will be possible!

I'm so happy for you two. Amber and I are planning our wedding in Toronto for fall of 2008. We are so excited! It's such a joy to know there is a place we can go to celebrate our love for our partners and really dedicate our lives to one another. Make that final step in committing to eachother. Good luck to you ladies. We wish the best for you.

YEAY!!!! That's wonderful. CONGRATULATIONS TO ANNE AND HER WIFE. I'm so glad you came to my home country for your special day! I hope you have a lifetime of happiness together with your children.
I'm straight and married and it absolutely breaks my heart (and my husbands too) to see how much pain gay couples have to go through to enjoy the human rights that soooooooo many straight couples take for granted. Few things make me happier than seeing people celebrate their love and make a lifelong commitment. Marriage isn't for everyone, and that's no problem whatever makes people happy, but to prevent people who want to get married from celebrating a lifelong promise of love and companionship is BEYOND wrong. Here's to a world without prejudice and a future where weddings are a joy that all couples can share without discrimination and without disrespect from others. Love is the most important thing in the world and like people it comes in many forms which are all equal and beautiful. The world needs as much love as it can get and there are few things crueler than standing against two people’s right to share and celebrate their love. I hope other countries will soon give gay couples the human rights they have deserved for so long.
