Bridesmaid

If you've ever been a bridesmaid, chances are you've heard those dreaded words: dyed-to-match shoes. Yep, dyeable shoes go hand-in-hand with the poufy gowns, unflattering styles and unnatural colors that could make George Hamilton look pasty. Although the shoe company Dyeables is redeeming the look with some new, pretty styles (we really like this one from their website), we have to ask, what's up with these stripper heels? These look like the bridesmaid will be swinging around a pole, not walking down an aisle!

What were the worst shoes you were ever forced to wear as a bridesmaid? Tell us!

I had some that were similar to those for my bridesmaids...they didn't complain or at least I hope that they didn't. The only thing is that I didn't make them wear them that high. But they were dyed silver to match their royal blue wedding gowns.

I was married outdoors at my future sister-in-law's home in a pair of dyeables pumps to match my pale peach silk suit. So far so good. Unfortunately, my well-meaning brother-in-law for some reason) chose to run the lawn sprinklers just before the guests were to arrive. Despite a beautiful cloudless sky , within minutes everyone's shoes were soaked through and my beautiful peach dyeables melted into a blotched mess of white, peach, and green grass stains. I pitched them in a dumpster on the way home!

I wore a very similar pair with my wedding dress! Nothing wrong with them...ok, after a couple polkas your feet kill, but other than that! :)

The worst shoes are those clear plastic type. Not for looks but how they wear. The plastic stretchs out, they don't breathe and they cut into your feet. I tried my damnest to try to convince the bride that they were not a good idea but all 12 of us got stuck wearing them. I ended up taking them off at every chance I got.
I told my bridesmaids just wear any white heels. I really didn't care because it didn't matter the dresses were to the floor anyway. Plus, they already had to put out too much money for the dresses.

I wore those shoes with my WEDDING DRESS. They don't look stripper at all when they're on. I had to wear something tall because my husband is 6'5" and I am only 5'4". These are the only platform type that I could get colored exactly to my dress.

I had to wear super-strappy 3" heels--selected by the bride--in my friends wedding a few years ago. By the end of the hour-long ceremony (held in a magnificent old church with marble floors), my toes were bright red and I couldn't feel my feet--and the shoes were the correct size. The first thing I after the recessional was remove my shoes. I actually had bruises on the tops of my feet from the straps digging into me! I didn't even bother to donate them to Goodwill--they went in the trash the next day so no one else would have to suffer the way I did.

if u think those shoes are bad take a look at these shoes called kristen on the davids bridal website under the bridal shoes section. They look like something one of the hookers from pretty woman would wear or a stripper in striptease. They even have that cheap clear plastic stuff on them. My best friend wore something like them to our prom in 02' and it kept digging into her feet so bad that a teacher had to cut them off of her because they kept making her feet and legs numb. It left deep red marks in her skin and it wasnt the size of the shoes because she had tried them on everyday till the prom to make sure they wouldnt hurt her feet when she walked or danced in them. She paid fifty bucks for those shoes so its cheaper to buy some cheap dress shoes at walmart or payless that u dont have to worry about not being comfortable in since most of the night you usually end up kicking them off and running around barefoot or in stockings.

I was recently a bridesmaid in a wedding where the bride let us pick our own dresses and shoes. I picked a dress that I will definitely wear again, and a pair of shoes that I took back to David's Bridal and had re-dyed black! They look even better in black, and I know for a fact that I will wear them again and again!!

I was M.O.H. in a wedding where the pale pink shoes were "supposed to" look like the straps were ribbons. aww so cute, right? NO. The "ribbons" were hot glued onto these very pole-dancer-like, see-through plastic peices...and the heels? I wish there were stiletto or something - but they weren't, they were awful, 80's style chunk heels. So gross! The bride told me "I picked these because I knew everyone could wear them again!" Sorry, but if I'm going to pay over $100 for shoes, the better be from BCBG. It was awful and they were donated to Goodwill shortly after the reception was over!
