Their Wedding Was A Real Beach To Plan
No wonder Bronx, N.Y., couple Michael and Jennifer are jumping for joy: This past February, the two lovebirds escaped to Mexico to tie the knot! "We chose Cancun for its short and relatively affordable flights," says high school teacher Jennifer. But of course, "the turquoise blue waters, fabulous Mexican cuisine and consistently great weather even during the winter" swayed their vote. For Jennifer and Michael, a physician, "A destination wedding was perfect for us because it was so incredibly relaxing and we got to spend quality time with each and every guest!"
Tell us: Would you travel for your wedding — or stay close to home?

Shayla,
you said you've looked into Puerto Vallarta. I suggest a small town just a 45 minute boat-ride away called Yelapa. It's so lowkey and friendly and really very beautiful there. During April, I was vacationing there and witnessed a wedding and it was absolutely gorgeous. Look into it!

I bet the number of people getting married on the beach just went up because of this great picture! One day I hope to be one of these lucky people!

Destination weddings? I say go for it! Your wedding day is about you and your beloved making a comittment to one another. You can always have a big party with all your friends and family when you get home.

Love the picture.
I am having a beach wedding in Jamaica. I don't miss not having family there, there is something romantic about it being just the two of you.

I would love to do a destination wedding!! But I am not sure I am willing to sacrifice our families missing out on our special day!! Not many of them have enough money to travel. So, if we did a destination wedding, we would just have to elope there..
I really do dream of a beach wedding, but I also dream of having my mom and my grandparents attending!! I wonder if most people who have beach weddings are just rich enough to fly all of their families to the destination, or how do they do it??

Your picture says it all!! What a great way to tie the knot! I am trying to plan my wedding and have been looking into Mexico also! It sounds like a wonderful place to get married! However, I'm not sure what would be the best time of year to get married there and which location would be the best. I've looked into Puerto Vallarta alot!!! And would love a late summer wedding but I hear that is when it rains the most. It looks like you have great weather!

I love the picture! Congratulations on your nuptials!
For Jennifer and Michael, a PHYSICIAN, "A destination wedding was perfect for us because it was so incredibly relaxing and we got to spend quality time with each and every guest!"
****I think they had it correct.
