The Pepto-Bismol Color Made Her Nauseous
May 03, 2007

"This has got to be one of the worst dresses out there," writes in Cleburne, Texas, native Heather, who slipped into this salmon-colored satin-and-lace gown for her mother's wedding. "There is such a thing as too much pink! The only thing worse was the one that the maid of honor got to wear."
On a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being the absolute worst), we give this dress a 7 (and assume the maid-of-honor wore a 10!). What do you think?

I don't believe this dress is still around. I had to wear it in bright pink for a wedding. It has got to be one of the ugliest, most unbecoming dress I have ever put on. When I saw it, it made me laugh. This dress is the reason, when I got married, that my girls wore simple black and white.

Wow I can't believe that so many people had to wear this ulgy dress, mine was a BRIGHT RED, so cute! I had to pay extra to buy a larger size so that the top would fit, and to make matters worse then had to pay to have them alter, the bottom half to fit. Guess what the bride said people were coming to see HER not us so it didn't matter what we looked like. Yes she actually told me that.

OMG - this must have been a very popular dress because I too wore this same exact dress when I was a bridesmaid at my cousin's wedding in 1991.
I weighed only 95lbs back then but the dress made me look bigger. And I hated the puffy sleeves. But I should not complain - I think the bride's dress looked worse than this actually. Ha, ha...

HA! That's the dress MY bridesmaids wore in 1990 (in stuck-up California, no less). No one said they hated it. Were they just being nice?

OMG! I wore this exact dress, same color and everything, as the maid-of-honor at a friend's wedding! I have tried to explain to people how hideous this dress was, now I can show them! I am amazed that so many brides thought this dress was a good idea...

i had this same exact dress but in blue! i had to wear it as a bridesmaid for my aunt's wedding!

I think the point here was to make the bridesmaids look so hideous that the bride would stand out and look so much better by default.

The bride was not married in Cleburne, she was married in Louisiana in 1991. I know, because I am the one who submitted this picture. I have only lived in Cleburne for the last 2 years.

WELL THE LACE ON THE DRESS IS A LITTLE OVER THE TOP, AND IT WASN'T FITTED FOR HER. BUT THE FLOWERS, COME ON DID SOMEONE JUST CUT THEM OUT OF GRANNY'S GARDEN? THEY'RE CARNATIONS TOO, HOW HORRIBLE!

Yes, undeed!!! I believe I wore that same dress in Teal Green for my cousin's wedding. Not only were they UGLY, but they really added the pounds in the photos... For such a fashion conscious person as my cousin, I could never quite understand why we were subjected to such a humiliating experience!

This is just another fashion casualty of the 80s. I knew when I wore a similar design for my sister's wedding that I was going to be haunted by the pictures. Sure enough, these were the only nice picures that we have together with our late father. Big stiff hair, dyed to match mauve satin shoes and of course the back of the dress had the awful huge bow, that thankfully was not photographed.

I wore a green version of this dress in the early 90's. Practically all bridesmaids dresses looked something like that in those days. I still shiver at the thought of those puffy sleeves!

Oh my god. How crazy is it that I click on this link and see someone I recognize lol?
That dress is horrible, but if the bride was married in Cleburne, could she have had much fashion sense?

unfortunately, we've all been through it in the 80's and early 90's then we all found some taste in our clothing. :)

WELL IF THIS DRESS WAS WORN IN THE PAST 10 YRS, THEN THAT IS TERRIBLE, BUT IF THIS WAS 15 YRS OR MORE AGO THAT WAS THE STYLE BACK THEN, B/C I REMEMBER BRIDESMAID DRESSES LIKE THAT ONE.

I wouldn't want to wear this dress--It's a complete nightmare! I'd LOVE to repoet the bide to the fashion police!!!!

I wore this same dress only royal blue to prom 15 years ago.
It looked just as bad on me then as the poor woman in the picture. Didn't help that I was seriously overweight either & had to get a dress 2 sizes bigger than I wore to accomodate my huge butt. I shiver remembering!
