Drowning In a Sea of Tulle

April 13, 2007

Bridesmaid

Poor Sara. It's bad enough being forced to wear a strapless, shapeless gown,
but when that dress comes with not one, but TWO layers of tulle, well it's
almost more than bridesmaid can bare. "First it was a layer of purple," says
Sara, "then a layer of blue sequins." Finishing off the look, a chunky gold
belt. (Why? Who knows!) "The dresses made everyone look fat, pregnant or
just plain crazy!"

We feel your pain, Sara! You don't look crazy, just trapped in an ugly
dress. Have you had to wear a dress this bad -- or worse? We want to
see it!

Oh, Sara, you poor girl. I can see that you actually have a cute figure.

I think this is neck-and-neck with Ginger's ugly print dress. That was horrid in its vivid excess. This, this makes the bath towel I wrapped around myself this morning look like couture. In fact, I could make a more flattering dress for Sara out of a bath towel!

you poor thing
i just had the heartiest laugh..

actually..it looks like a skirt pulled up and (mis)matched with a belt

CeeCee | Apr 26, 2007 10:56:51 PM

Words fail me. That is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Can we say shower curtain?

Trisha | Apr 26, 2007 3:09:27 PM

Toga! Toga! Toga! What an awful ugly dress.

anna | Apr 24, 2007 4:53:30 PM

happy halloween. Is this homemade?

gina | Apr 23, 2007 11:41:59 PM

WOW!!! a mermaid finally left the water and decided to join her first party

Allison | Apr 20, 2007 3:51:42 PM

It looks like something I'd wear to a toga party! lol

Susan | Apr 20, 2007 3:50:03 AM

Are you sure that's a dress? I mean, was there a zipper or seams or anything to indicate that this pile of fabric was meant to cover a person's nakedness? 'Cause I'm not seeing it.
My husband also made a shower-curtain comment. And a drape comment. I think what could have saved this get-up is a swathe of fabric over one shoulder and a laurel-leaf crown. A toga is much more couture than anything you could have pulled off a curtain-rod.

THAT DRESS IS UGLY!!!!! NOW THAT IS A GOOD FRIEND.

Sara | Apr 17, 2007 11:28:48 AM

Hi everyone -- that's actually me in the picture. Well, that's me about three hours into the wedding. I was completely hammered and couldn't handle the stupid cheap gold strappy sandals I had to wear, so I took them off and put on my socks.

Colleen | Apr 17, 2007 11:20:40 AM

I agree. That poor girl, who is nursing alcohol, ad to wear that. I also wonder what is with the pink socks? Was this an 1980s wedding, and she thought it would be cool to pair it with the bright slouchy socks of the period?

michele | Apr 17, 2007 1:11:45 AM

ew. thats really all i can say. EW.

Heather | Apr 16, 2007 5:44:41 PM

I know that when the bride looks back at her wedding photos she is gonna wonder if she was high when she picked these things out...

Karen | Apr 16, 2007 11:53:05 AM

I think I would have come down with a disease to avoid wearing taht dress! Like a stroke with a miraculous recovery AFTER the wedding! How could a bride actually think that that was a good idea???

marie^shia | Apr 15, 2007 8:25:53 PM

omg it looks like she is in the greek times....and that was not a compliment

Grace | Apr 15, 2007 4:58:24 PM

It's official: Brides DO despise their friends.

Peggie | Apr 15, 2007 1:41:49 PM

What's with the pink socks or booties or whatever further down at the ankles?

Susan | Apr 15, 2007 11:25:52 AM

Looks like someone grabbed a shower curtain and wrapped a drapery tie around it. We all know only Scarlett O'Hara could only pull that off. I hope at least the wedding was fun and you are a good friend for smiling and going along with the gown.

Zeni | Apr 14, 2007 5:09:03 PM

That definitely had to be a wedding on a budget. To have some saran wrap and glitter thrown on the bridesmades. Or she was incredibly oogly and wanted everyone else to look far worse than her.
It's an 9 on the ugly meter.

Linda | Apr 13, 2007 2:37:42 PM

Oh my god - you must be a saint to wear something that ugly. That is truly the ugliest dress I've ever seen.
